Our client provides quality, bespoke upholstery to the discerning, high end segment of the market. They work primarily with interior designers, a few retailers and export clients. Normally their work is based around a client's project, but they’re just as happy to supply a single chair to a customer that has always promised themself a quality item and is finally going to realise that dream!
They are currently seeking a committed, organised and above all, cheerful individual, able to work on his or her own initiative to join their small friendly team.
The Administrator work involves dealing with complex, detailed orders for highly customised furniture which is sold to top-end retail and designer clients. The organisation is a very small business so the role requires turning your hand to a range of things. Top line responsibilities include:
Processing sales orders on bespoke order entry/production system (full training will be given)
Processing purchase orders
Arranging showroom appointments and receiving visitors (a small number of clients by appointment only)
Liaising and supporting trade clients with queries by phone and email and taking an active role in ensuring solutions are presented
Occasionally working directly with the end customer
To enjoy this position, you should be people orientated, and interested in interior design, fabrics, furniture and trends. There is considerable autonomy in the role, and a very real opportunity to engage in the showroom design process, product development and range selection.
Good written English and a professional and approachable writing style.
Highly organised and able to work on your own initiative.
The ability to interact face-to-face with customers, to listen and understand their requirements is vital to the role. Some experience in retail would therefore be advantageous, but not essential.
People orientated, and interested in interior design, fabrics, furniture and trends.
IT literate – Outlook / Excel / Word and bespoke system used regularly
This is a part-time, contract position covering maternity leave for a minimum of 9 months. The role is seeking 3 or 4 days per week based at the company’s offices in High Wycombe. Working pattern can be agreed mutually. Core office hours are 9-5pm. An occasional Saturday morning may be required but unlikely to exceed 5 times per year. A salary of £27k fte is on offer for the right candidate. There is free parking available and 22 days holiday plus bank holidays pro rata plus pension.
