This leading independent firm of chartered accountants and commercial advisers work with some of the most exciting and dynamic businesses across a range of sectors, from Rural and Manufacturing, to Academies and Not for Profits.
The client is one of the largest independent chartered accountancy groups in the West of England. They fully support flexible working, open to part remote working and part office based (most roles can be worked 60% in office, 40% remote). They appreciate the need for flexibility and are also open to employees flexing the hours, with later or earlier start or finish times.
Reporting to the Audit Manager, the Audit Senior will lead audits for owner-managed businesses and other entities.
Audit accounts, interpreting and verifying all information provided by clients.
Prepare annual and management accounts ensuring details are accurate.
Complete basic tax computations for clients.
Compose letters to clients, tax office and the registrar of companies.
Write clear file notes which can be easily understood by others.
Produce neat working papers to reflect the accounts produced (ensuring clear cross- references).
Complete detailed schedules for each set of accounts to ensure the analysis is clear and logical.
Identify problems with data provided by clients.
Plan and prioritise work according to client and partner needs/deadlines and instructions.
Delegate and explain work to junior members of the team, clearly explaining priorities.
Advise and coach junior members of the team concerning work to be completed.
Minimum Candidate Requirements
Qualified/part qualified ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience.
Previous experience as an audit senior.
Preparation of statutory accounts.
Use of Microsoft Excel & Word.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholder throughout the business.
Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.

Hours – This is a permanent position, either part time (min 25 hours per week) or full time, hours and days negotiable.
Location – Choice of locations in the South West in Wiltshire or Somerset (plus hybrid).
