Beauclair is a data company that uses Big Data for the benefit of local communities.
We offer a subscription service to Local Authorities, Business Improvement Districts, Chambers of Commerce, and similar organisations to help them to monitor the economic health of retail districts. We have ambitious goals of scaling up to be able to offer a highly cost-effective, user-focused data service for high streets across the country.
About the role
We are seeking a Client Manager to enable us to remain client focussed as we grow and to support that growth.
The role comprises 3 aspects, weighting of which may vary depending on the demands of the business:
- Primary Role
- Client Management – Providing client support and training, staying close to our clients in terms of data insights and needs, up-selling opportunities and helping with the renewal process.
- Secondary
- Sales – assisting our Business Development Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager with the sales process.
- Marketing – management of Beauclair social media community management and assisting the Sales & Marketing Manager with our brand story telling as required.
The role offers flexibility. Beauclair is open to hiring candidates located across the UK and the role can be performed on a mostly remote basis or at an office location, subject to adequate high speed internet access. Alternatively, the Client Relationship Manager can elect to work at an appropriate coworking office space. If the role is filled remotely, there will be the expectation of in-person attendance at meetings (in London) or events (around the UK) for an agreed number of days per year. The role is being offered on a flexible basis for 60% FTE (equivalent to x3 days per week).
You will be supported by the rest of the Beauclair team: Sales & Marketing Manager (Line Manager) our director, Chief Data Officerand Business Development Manager.

Role description
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Contacting clients on a regular schedule to understand how they are using our data and to offer support and training to enable clients to maximise the value that they derive from our data. You will use our CRM, HubSpot, to ensure these calls happen, and all client communications recorded.
- Staying close to our clients in terms of understanding data-based insights that are specific to them, e.g. which sectors are doing well or badly compared to national benchmarks.
- Up-selling additional consulting/insight services and helping with the renewal process.
- Understanding client needs and ensuring this up-to-date information is fed back to the team for product or proposal development.
- Working with the rest of the team in maintaining relationships with clients and ensuring that they are delighted with the service provided by Beauclair, e.g. supporting client induction training as required, or attending events such as industry conferences.
MARKETING / SOCIAL MEDIA
- Beauclair social media community management (currently LinkedIn), ensuring clients and prospective clients are being followed/commented on etc.
- Assist in managing Beauclair social media agency
- Supporting “story” creation around our data, e.g. newsletters, case studies, website etc.
SALES
- Once a sales call has been set up by our Business Development Manager, delivering presentations and follow up and maintaining contact with prospects throughout sales cycle.
- Participating in online and in-person conferences, events and seminars that promote Beauclair’s brand as a national centre of expertise on retail/spending data
Person description
Required qualifications
- A degree is required.
- Mathematics to A-level or a strong GCSE grade would be helpful.
Required experience
- 3 to 5 years’ work experience of client management or marketing, preferably in a retail, data and/or public policy environment.
- Evidence of strong customer / client relationship management skills.
Preferred experience
- Working with Business Improvement Districts, local government and other public bodies, particularly in issues related to economic development, neighbourhoods and the urban environment.
- Public speaking and presentation.

- Self-motivated, with an ability to solo work without being part of a large team.

Package
- £35-£38 FTE plus 3% pension contribution plus bonus of up to 5% of salary.
