Our client is a Hospice Charity who are committed to funding over £1m a year to provide high quality hospice care for people living in Buckinghamshire and its borders.

They are currently seeking a Community and Events Fundraiser to join their small, friendly and vibrant team.

The Role

Reporting to the Community and Events Manager, the Community and Events Fundraiser will organise outstanding events engaging the local community to support excellent end of life care at the Hospice. This includes delivering major mass participation fundraising events, such as Santa Dash, and providing logistical event support to the wider fundraising team.

You will also be supporting those individuals and organisations who choose to fundraise for the hospice. Typical activities include meeting supporters to talk through their fundraising ideas, promoting charity led activities, such as Open Gardens and Schools Santa Dash, engaging new supporters by planning outreach and engagement opportunities and stewarding all those who wish to support the charity. Key accountabilities include:

Event Fundraising

To support the Public Fundraising Senior Manager to deliver the events fundraising programme:

To deliver four flagship fundraising events each year
To deliver a flagship ‘Challenge’ event each year
To deliver stewardship events for existing supporters

Community and Challenge Fundraising

To account manage key volunteers and supporters
To offer support and advice to individuals seeking to fundraise, including in person, online or via social media
To deliver inspiring talks and presentations
To work with volunteers to support the community fundraising programme
Maintain records of interaction with donors and volunteers on database

The Candidate

You’ll be very well organised and passionate about organising events. Ideally you’ll have:

Experience of organising large, complex events
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent relationship building skills
Experience of working with volunteers

This role is offered on a permanent part time basis (full time will also be considered) seeking a minimum of 4 days or 32 hrs/wk.
A salary of up to £27k fte* is on offer depending on experience (£21.6k actual for 32 hrs).
The role will be based at the charity’s HQ in Aylesbury, with free onsite parking and travel required across Bucks. Some hybrid working will also be possible and some flexibility is required to attend some evening and weekend events.
