Hailsham Chambers are seeking a part-time Fees Clerk to join their busy team. Working 16 hours over 2/3 days per week, alongside another part-time Fees Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of Chambers’ fees, including the collection of aged debt.
Main Responsibilities:
Running aged debt reports, emailing debtors regarding outstanding fees, adhering to Chambers’ fee chasing terms, and liaising with barristers regarding debt management. Processing and logging cheques and BACS payments on LEX, saving remittance advices and emails. Emailing VAT receipts and invoices to suppliers, sending pending receipts/invoices, and providing fee notes on request. Handling fee and payment enquiries from suppliers, barristers, and staff, and performing ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in a finance or credit control role, preferably within a Chambers, law firm, professional services or similar regulated environment. Excellent communication skills, a professional and diplomatic approach, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. High attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and strong numerical abilities are also required.
Working Hours:
08:30 – 05:30/16 hours over 2 or 3 days per week (any days except Friday)
