The Newsflare platform ensures that the best user-generated videos (UGV) are enjoyed by billions of people around the world.

We are looking for a Finance Officer who will be responsible for all day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including updating and maintaining financial records, managing accounts payable and month end close.

The key responsibilities of the role are:
– Recording financial transactions in Xero
– Management of accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of invoices
– Month-end account reconciliations, journal postings, accruals, and pre-payments
– Recording cash receipts and handling bank deposits
– Managing employee expense claims
– Liaison with external accountants to prepare and review payroll and pensions
– External compliance including liaising with HMRC, banks, accountants and advisers where required.
– Other ad hoc tasks as required by the business
– This role is based in London so the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK

About The Person
We are friendly bunch looking for someone who shares our values and has:
– A pragmatic and innovative approach who can operate in a lean, agile, start-up environment
– An eye for detail
– Excellent communication skills
– Sound knowledge of accounting principles (AAT or ACCA / CIMA / ACA part qualified)
– Prior experience in finance and bookkeeping (this is a must)
– Experience using Xero accounting software, PayPal and TransferWise
– Is confident using Excel / Google sheets
– Has experience of working with multi-currency (this is a big plus)
