Our Client
Our client is a leading independent education provider based in Berkhamsted.
The Role
Reporting to the Headteacher, you role is to be the first point of contact for the Head, providing efficient and proactive support.
Responsibilities include:
Organise and maintain diary, schedule appointments, and keep track of key tasks and deadlines for the Head.
Organisation of communications for the Head, ensuring accuracy in content and a timely response.
To write, manage and collate communication and information to parents via School Post and Parent Portal.
Organisation of meetings held by the Head when required, including taking notes during meetings, preparing and distributing minutes and agendas.
Manage pupil registration; oversee attendance and absence for the Prep & Pre-Prep, ensure that complaince is met and that any issues are flagged to the Head.
Organisation and management of Pre-Prep and Prep events, including invitations and seat reservations for guests, to include the management of Blue-Runner catering order system.
Manage finances and budgets for Prep and Pre-Prep in liaison with relevant departments
Administration of the Prep and Pre-Prep School calendar.
Assisting with any administrative tasks where necessary.
Understand the confidential nature of the school environment and uphold confidentiality at all times.
To undertake training as required to ensure competency required to fulfil the job role.
Liaising with the central admissions team and wider BSG departments as and when required by the Head.
The Candidate
To be successful as PA to the Headteacher, you’ll have:
Proven experience in a PA, secretarial, or administrative role, ideally in an educational setting.
Experience in diary management, meeting coordination, and handling confidential information.
Experience producing high-quality correspondence and documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant administrative software.
Experience working with senior leadership teams or in a school environment would be advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and proactively, using initiative to solve problems.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents, and external stakeholders.
High level of discretion, maintaining confidentiality at all times with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible and adaptable, willing to respond to changing circumstances.
Ability to maintain a calm and positive attitude in challenging situations.
A willingness to continuously improve personal and professional skills.
The Terms
This role is full time during term time plus one week during school holidays. The position is based on the school site in Berkhamsted and will require the candidate to be office based throughout.
A salary of £34,018 FTE* is being offered to the successful candidate, prorated to the hours worked (actual £28,130 pa).
