Our Client
Our client is a boutique media company specialising in print, digital media and events for over 15 years’. They have fantastic B2B brands with captive and targeted audiences in their respective sectors. They are looking for someone who is hungry to make sales – through business development and account management – and who are confident they can make a positive difference to the revenue generation in our clients sector leading brands.
The Role
The successful candidate will be working across a portfolio of market leading events, magazines and digital platforms. You will be an experienced media sales professional with the drive and determination to help take our clients already successful titles to the next level.
Our client is looking for a dynamic & highly talented person to assist them with their existing client base, and growth plan via winning new business. They're looking for experienced and tenacious senior sales executive who likes the idea of working for a small, creative publishing company – with the increased autonomy and visibility that brings.
• Quickly build rapport with potential and existing clients
• Co-ordinate with internal teams regarding production, campaign optimisation and problem-solving
• Collaborate with editorial colleagues to ensure relevant information is exchanged to the benefit of all
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the marketplace, including ongoing analysis of competitor activity
• Enhance the brand’s reputation and maximise sales opportunities by maintaining regular contact with the client base through face-to-face meetings, industry events, and presenting on video and phone calls
• Selling and up-selling to existing clients
• Use the CRM to maintain an accurate record of sales, prospects and leads
• Follow agreed KPIs to help the team grow new business revenues, improve yields, increase forward selling and series bookings
The Candidate
If you are a passionate, experienced and highly astute senior media sales professional and you love being on the phone as well as face to face and email communication, managing existing client relationships and identifying and bringing in new business – our client wants to hear from you! Key skills required:
• Proven experience in account management, lead generation, building a sales pipeline, negotiating and closing deals
• Preferably a background in B2B print and digital media and/or events
• Be highly organised and highly motivated with a keen eye for detail
• Be a strategic and proactive thinker and planner
• Great relationship builder both internally and externally
• Brilliant communication skills, both written and verbal
• Have a tenacious, can-do approach and a proven track record of exceeding targets
• Familiar with working to deadlines and be able to deliver under pressure
• Be somebody with a hunger for sales who is confident they can make a positive difference to the sales revenue
The Terms
This great opportunity is being offered at 4 days (or equiv) up to full time with other flexible working options for the right candidate. An annual salary of £28,000-£42,000 FTE* basic – dependent on skills and experience. Commission OTE typically 50-70% of basic – uncapped, plus a year-end bonus. The role is based in the client's offices in Shoreditch at least two days per week, with a working from home hybrid arrangement available.
*Full time equivalent – actual salary will depend on final hours agreed.
