Our Client
Founded in Kansas in 1958, this American multinational restaurant is now one of the most recognisable names on our high street. They have come a long way from their first UK restaurant that opened over 40 years ago, and now successfully run 151 stores across the country. They are now looking for a qualified Accountant with a passion for Tax to join their friendly and flexible team.
The Role
This is a key role within the business where the successful candidate will act as the tax expert, providing tax advice to the Board, management of all taxes, as well as preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts and preparation of Period Reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Calculating annual corporation tax liability for all group companies and completion of tax pack for external accountants
Calculation the tax deductibility of interest based on transfer pricing legislation and corporate interest restriction legislation
Accurately forecasting the payments on accounts for corporation tax
Capital gains tax calculations
Completing the corporation tax for the statutory accounts along with the tax notes
Corporation and deferred tax calculations
Capital allowance calculations
Responsible for all VAT payments, both on account and balancing
VAT calculation
Supporting the payroll manager with any PAYE issues
Calculation and submission of the annual PSA
End to end calculation and completion of two consolidated company statutory accounts and seven company statutory accounts.
Inter-company matrix management
Inter-company interest calculations
Interest calculation on loan notes
Management charge invoicing
Goodwill and FRS4 calculations
Form 42 (employee held stocks and shares)
Irish VAT (bi-annual return)
Risk pack for Senior Accounting Officer
Key contact for HMRC to include annual risk review
To assist all departments with tax queries as necessary
To ensure that tax is part of the decision-making process during policy reviews/changes e.g. expenses policy
The Candidate
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with strong tax exposure
Experience in corporate tax and VAT
Statutory accounts exposure
A good understanding of P&L and Balance sheet accounting.
Ability to use own initiative
Proactive approach to work, including the ability to undertake multiple tasks without losing focus.
Flexible attitude
Strong IT skills (advanced excel and other Microsoft packages, Alteryx and CCH preferred not necessary)
High organisation and prioritisation skills
The Terms
This is a highly flexible, part time role, ideally working between 21-28 hours per week on a hybrid basis (remote and at their head office based in Borehamwood). They are offering a salary of £70kFTE (including a range of fantastic benefits such as a car allowance, life assurance and pension) and their standard working week is 35 hours.
