Principal Brand Strategist 
Location: Work from home with travel to client meetings
Hours: Flexible, min. 3 days / 24 hours per week

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be a thinking partner to senior marketers of leading brands, helping them to drive change. To achieve this, you’ll lead a senior team at Blue Feathers, delivering projects across brand strategy, proposition development and capability building. Projects run typically from three to six months. You’ll be part of a supportive, enthusiastic and hard working team, who care about helping others.

We need you to have strong strategic skills:

Strategic thinking: Very strong thinking and insight skills, and the ability to apply them to complex brand, proposition and capability challenges. Enjoys working through a knotty challenge.

Solution design: Able to identify the genuine root of a problem. Can design an effective process to answer a brief. Able to flex if more information is found that changes the solution needed.

Change agent: Will not accept the status quo. Challenges themselves and those around them to push the boundaries.
And we need you to have a high level of practical skills:

Project leadership: Understands what needs to be achieved and identifies the best way to deliver. Builds strong relationships with all team members. Guides the Blue Feathers project team, course correcting as needed. Strong bias to action and focus on delivery.

Client partnership: Builds strong, respectful relationships with clients of all levels – CEOs to junior colleagues. Identifies how best to support each individual. Has brave conversations to open clients’ minds to what is possible and supports them to achieve it. Able to adapt as conversations evolve. Cares about making clients’ lives easier.

Communication: Communicates in a clear and engaging way. Strong storytelling skills to take clients on the journey. Makes the complex simple. Succinct. Empathetic. Active listener.

Facilitation: Can ‘hold a room’ and enjoys working with clients to draw out deeper insights into their customer-base or organisation. Managing large groups to achieve outcomes within fixed time frames. Can think on their feet and deliver with confidence.

High quality standards: Delivers to an extremely high standard and holds everyone to the same. High attention to detail across all aspects of work.

We’re looking for someone who has experience in:
• Agency roles: Led delivery of complex strategic projects for clients
• Leadership level: Worked with (and at) senior/ leadership levels within marketing – minimum Head of and upwards, ideally Director level
• Brands of scale: Led work for market-leading brands/ clients – ideally FTSE100 brands
• Team leader: Led successful teams to achieve their objectives

• Up to 120k FTE or £900 per day (8 hours), dependent on experience
• High spec IT and home office set up required
• Working from home with occasional face-to-face meetings, dependent on project need – will include travel to clients’ offices, some of which are based outside UK
