The Client

This Bristol based social enterprise, established in 2017, aims to improve the healthcare services and response to those affected by gender-based violence. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this is a fixed term contract to deliver two core programmes. The role runs to 31st March 2024 with potential for it to extend.

The Role

This post is the opportunity for an individual to programme manage and ensure delivery of the flagship intervention in a number of areas in London. This is a great opportunity to be part of improving the health care response to domestic abuse and to join a small, ambitious and dedicated team.

Act as strategic lead for contract and programme management offering expertise, advice and guidance.
Maintain and implement a contract and programme management strategy which robustly delivers against IRISi priorities and achieves return on investment for the funders.
Work to ensure consistency and quality are achieved.
Work across local teams to adhere to the evidenced based framework which will monitor impact and achieve outcomes.

Contract Management:

Lead on contracting activity focusing on contract development as required, contract compliance and managing risk.
Work closely with colleagues on finance matters related to the programme; follow budgetary review process ensuring contracts are delivered within agreed financial envelopes and governance arrangements are in place.
Ensure providers deliver to agreed quality and performance requirements.
Manage the development of contracts and agreements ensuring expert legal and financial advice is secured and used as required.
Follow agreed policies and frameworks, oversee relevant contracting processes for partner agencies supplying services.
Advise and liaise closely with the CEO and Network Director on contracts and documentation that require their sign off.
Work with the CEO and Network Director to ensure due processes are followed, contracts monitored, and payments released according to performance.

Programme management:

Taking responsibility for monitoring the overall delivery plan.
Utilising appropriately detailed project plans and delivery processes whilst maintaining flexibility and ability to respond to emergent or changing priorities.
Manage issues, risks, lessons learnt appropriately for the programme and reporting on them.
Adhere to an agreed framework of reporting on the progress against the plans to senior management.
Work with the Comms Manager on a comms framework for the different stakeholder groups.
Lead on proactive stakeholder management with external stakeholders and regular internal reflection in order to continuously improve delivery.
Ensure the programme is cutting edge in design and contributes to wider learning on frameworks for future programmes.

Personal Specification

Programme management experience, with particular experience of delivering complex projects involving multiple partners.
It would be advantageous if you had an understanding and experience of working within the health and / or public sector (although not essential).
Good financial acumen and ability to work closely with financial team colleagues.
Excellent ability to build relationships with a variety of providers across all sectors and at all levels.
Demonstrable skills to influence, negotiate and resolve disputes with providers and key partners.
Ability to identify and evaluate risks and options and develop strategies to manage and mitigate.

Terms

This is a fixed term contract of 12 months, currently to March 31st 2024. There may be potential to extend.
Start date ideally mid March.
Hours, min 24 hours per week, up to full time (35 hours per week).
The role offers lots of flexibility; it is mostly remote, with quarterly meetings in Bristol, and twice yearly meetings in London. The core hours to work are between 10am-4pm, additional hours may be worked flexibly across the week or into the evening.
Salary £37,261 FTE*
25 days holiday pro-rate, plus pension scheme after successful completion of three-month probation period.

Location – Bristol (once per quarter) and remote.

Closing Date: Monday 6th February, with first interviews to be held by Teams on Monday 13th February.
