Are you an energetic Accountant looking for a role in a dynamic and forward- thinking practice in the heart of London? If so, this role could be just what you are looking for.
A young and vibrant specialist tax firm, which brings together a wealth of wide-ranging experience and expertise in all areas of UK and US tax advice and compliance. Their private client team specialises in international tax matters with a particular focus on the tax issues faced by non-domiciled, non-resident and expat taxpayers. They also have a US team and a corporate tax team, the latter assisting with a wide range of companies and businesses with all aspects of their UK and intentional tax compliance. In addition, their well-established client base also calls on their services for more general accounting support.
Due to their ongoing success, they are now recruiting an experienced Accountant to join their London team to support with more general accounting and bookkeeping duties.
The role is very varied including:
Preparation of limited company accounts to meet statutory deadlines
Preparation of sole trader, partnership and LLP accounts
Preparation and review of bookkeeping and VAT Returns
Company secretary work for small companies
Providing some compliance and consultancy support on personal tax matters
Maintaining productive relationships with all clients
Liaising with HMRC as required
The ideal candidate will:
Ideally have an accounting qualification, but part-qualified ACA or ACCA or QBE considered too.
Have demonstrable experience and working knowledge of bookkeeping, management accounts, and finance processes
Have experience of preparing Statutory Financial Statements for Companies and LLPs (including required reconciliations and all notes to the accounts)
Accounting standards and policies and the requirements of the Companies Act.
Have experience of preparing Corporation Tax returns for small companies
Ideally have experience of using CCH Accounts and CCH Tax Software
Knowledgeable in using a variety of other accounting software ideally Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Freeagent and Excel
Have some Company Secretarial experience
Be enthusiastic, motivated and enjoys working as part of a small team
Be an excellent communicator who enjoys and excels at building and maintaining client relationships.
Resourceful and independent worker with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to suggest improvements to internal processes.
Proven ability to prioritise work and meet multiple filing deadlines
This role is being offered on a part time basis, working two or three days per week (with the additional flexibility of spreading the hours across the week). They are offering a salary of around £50k FTE* and they have additional benefits including, 25 days holiday (pro-rated), a matched pension of up to 5% after a years’ service and optional medical insurance. The role will be hybrid, splitting your time equally between their office based near Liverpool Street and home.
