Are you an experienced Bookkeeper with an appetite to be involved in all areas of a small, growing business? This role with a long term and successful client of ours is being offered on a part time basis with flexibility in terms f working pattern and scope to develop.

Our Client
Our Client offers maintenance and repair services to a number of hydropower companies across the UK. The business forms part of a diverse group, with turnover of c. £10m, that owns, operates and maintains hydropower and wind assets, with the aim of continuing to grow into a broad- based Renewable Energy company.

The Role
Our Client is currently seeking a Finance Manager based in their head office in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire with some hybrid working available.

This role will report directly to the Finance Director (based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire) and the Hydro Power Director (based in Malton, Yorkshire). It provides a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong numeracy, organisation and communication skills to work in a broad finance role with influence across all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities
– Liaising with engineers and office manager in Malton office (via Teams/Email but also in person visits to their office for 1-2 days every 2 months);
– Daily and monthly bank reconciliations;
– Supplier invoicing – raising POs, posting invoices, liaising with suppliers, processing payments;
– Customer invoicing – raising sales orders and invoices, liaising with customers, credit control;
– Helping with stock management, ensuring parts are recharged and understanding how stock movements impact the accounts;
– Processing expenses;
– VAT returns;
– Managing company credit card;
– Basic intercompany reconciliations;
– Preparing monthly Management Accounts and discussing with the Finance Director;

The Candidate
The successful candidate will be someone who has experience in an accounting role.

You will have/be:
– Part Qualified Accountant or an experienced Bookkeeper;
– Motivated to be involved in all areas of the business, to understand how it operates on a day-to- day basis and how that impacts profitability;
– Strong interpersonal skills and a great team player whilst also being able to work independently;
– Great communication skills, especially with non-finance personnel;
– Ability to manage and effectively prioritise multiple workload tasks;
– Good knowledge of Sage Accounting Software (ideally) or similar accounts package;
– Computer literate, able to use Excel proficiently.

The Terms
– This is a permanent, part-time role (4 days or 5 days – shortened hours);
– A competitive salary, (dependent on candidate’s experience and qualifications) – c.£45k FTE;
– A heavily subsidised healthcare package provided by Paycare;
– Pension plan;
– The role is predominantly office based, with some hybrid/flexible working available;
– The organisation works a 40hr week. Holidays are 24 days plus bank holidays, per annum.
