Company Koru Kids

We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join the Koru Kids team. Your mission will be to make sure every parent in London who needs part-time childcare thinks of Koru Kids first. You will build brand awareness using earned, owned and paid channels, developing strategies and tactics that compliment our performance marketing activities. We are rich in insights, our brand strategy is clear and we are just about to launch a new visual identity. The tools and infrastructure are there for you to harness and amplify using your creative thinking and marketing instincts.

You will be part of a growing, fast-paced, scale-up team who are incredibly focused on achieving our mission – to build the world’s best childcare service. This is a rare opportunity to join and make impact at Koru Kids at a pivotal moment of acceleration.

What’s more, the service we have built is amazing. Well, we would say that, but our families say it too – they use words like ‘love’ and ‘life-changing’ to describe what we do. Koru Kids is game-changing for working families who are crying out for balance and support. You will be an integral part of bringing that solution to even more people.

Why this role is important to Koru Kids:

Choosing childcare is intensely personal and never a quick decision. Essential to our growth is building awareness of our service and our reputation, so that when families need part-time childcare we’re top of mind and they know where to find us.

We know who our customers are and what’s important to them. We’ve invested in making our brand strategy sharp and our new visual identity will elevate our position in people’s minds. We need your creativity to bring it to life, communicate it to more families and ultimately grow our number of customers.

And now about you:

  • You know what strong and beautiful creative looks like and you work relentlessly to develop it. You have a keen eye for design to make sure we’re always consistent and looking our best. You’ll work with a team of freelancers to bring your ideas and key messages to life.
  • You’re experienced in crafting and executing multi-channel campaigns including performance marketing, PR, partnerships, influencer marketing, outdoor advertising and podcasts. You know how to optimise the mix to drive the best results.
  • You will build out our communications arsonry with customer testimonials, case studies and other content that can be used across all our touchpoints to build consumer trust
  • You’re a strong copy writer and can draft press releases, write Facebook copy and craft beautiful emails with ease.
  • You’ve worked in a startup or scale up environment so you know how to test, learn, iterate and make big things happen on smaller budgets.

You should also be:

Tremendously ambitious – This opportunity is what you decide to make it. We want brave, curious individuals who question “how might we?” and inspire the rest of the business to do the same.

A brand advocate – When a brand gets under your skin you can’t help but live and breath it

Buzzing with ideas- You expose yourself to other brands and peers and are constantly generating different ideas to help us accelerate further

A leader- You’ll be managing a team of 2 and working closely with the rest of the acquisition squad who are expanding our service to the UK and to younger kids. You’ll inspire, coach and grip ambiguous situations so they can develop and deliver

Humble – You take ownership of successes and mistakes. You value experiences and feedback that helps you learn.

Fast-paced – Your favourite speed is extra fast. We don’t have months to plan campaigns and we need to deliver every day to drive the desired growth. You feel at ease when things move quickly.

Ideally we’d like…

  • 5+ years of excellence in marketing roles
  • Experience working for a top scale-up brand
  • An interest in design or a creative background is a bonus

Important things to know…

Timing: We’d like to have the right person join the team in January but we can wait a little longer if we need to.

Flexibility: The role can be done flexibly. It can also be part-time if you like, although in that case you are likely to need to have highly relevant experience as you’ll have less time to learn things from scratch. We welcome parents and would love to discuss any other working arrangements that make it possible for you to be part of our team.

Salary: The salary range for this role is £45,000-60,000, depending on experience. This is because the less relevant experience you have, the more support you’ll need, which we’ll need to also pay for. If you’re part-time, this will be pro-rated. We also have some awesome benefits – among these is the ability to have a Koru Kids nanny for half price if you are a parent! (please note, we are currently only in London, with likely expansion in 2021).

Location: You can do this role from anywhere in the UK and earn the same salary as you would if you were in London (where we are based). We welcome applications from people living outside London. Outside the UK is more complicated as it has tax and other implications, so we are unlikely to hire someone living outside the UK.
