Company BelleVie

BelleVie’s vision is a world where people who give and receive care are valued and thrive.

Care is in crisis. Our population is ageing, and yet people struggle to find the quality support they deserve. The root cause is that people don’t like the roles on offer in our current time-and-task, command-and-control model of delivering care. With vacancies at 10%, and 44% of home care workers leaving their jobs every year, we need a new solution.

BelleVie supports older people to thrive at home. Our innovative operating model is forging a new path; creating a dramatically better experience for both care workers and the people we support. Our self-managing teams of care workers build deep and trusted relationships with each other and those they support, so that we really focus on what matters. The model is enabled and scaled by our bespoke Wellbeing OS technology platform and funded by a monthly subscription. BelleVie is about people; we are curious, compassionate, creative and ambitious. We are here to make a difference.

BelleVie has seen great success since launching in 2019, with 94% of supported families highly recommending us. We are embarking on a rapid growth phase, building on our experience from our pioneer teams in the Thames Valley and North East.

We’re looking for a CFO with a commercial mindset and startup experience, who shares our Founders’ passion for private enterprise making a positive impact on the world.

Responsibilities
The CFO will, alongside the Founders, take ownership for delivering BelleVie’s overall objectives of scaling, maximising our positive social impact and achieving financial profitability. This includes:

– Forecasting, budgeting and financial modelling to project performance, explore options with BelleVie’s Leadership and Board, and inform strategic decision making.
– Working with the COO to win and negotiate contracts to meet our ambitious growth targets.
– Working with the CEO on fundraising, through equity, grants and/or debt.
– Regular reporting of financial performance and direction of travel to the Board.
– Owning our statutory accounting and other relevant reporting obligations.

About you
Capabilities and experience:
– Has worked with VC-backed, early stage, pre-profit startups
– Deep competence in forecasting, budgeting, financial models and producing management information
– Evidence of scaling businesses, successful commercial negotiation and driving margin improvements.
– Confident working at Board level.
– Experience of e-commerce is beneficial.

The person we want:
– Is entrepreneurial; thriving in a fast-paced, high growth environment; able to adapt and flex.
– Shows their excellent business acumen through being willing to ask tough questions.
– Is confident at communicating complex financial messages to different audiences, from non-finance colleagues, to the Board and investors.
– Is a strategic thinker who will thrive working with the Founders on business strategy.
– Applies a commercial mindset to support a path to profitability.
– Enjoys working with people, is positive and self-motivated.
– Is responsible and has integrity.
– Motivated to be in a team making a real difference to the future of work, society and our ageing population.

Package
– You’ll work from home most of the time as part of a friendly virtual team. There will be some UK-based travel to attend face to face sessions for e.g. retrospectives and planning or board meetings.
– We pride ourselves on working flexible hours – walk the dog, collect the children from school around your work. We count outcomes not hours, but expect this role to be a part time job.
– This job would suit a portfolio CFO, or a finance professional looking for part time work to fit alongside other commitments.
– Flexible package of hours, compensation and equity to be discussed.
