Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and naturally engaging Community & Advocacy Manager to help amplify the work of The Happy Confident Company across our audience and wider community.
This is primarily a community engagement role, not a traditional social media management role. The successful candidate will spend most of their time building relationships, contributing to conversations, adding value in groups and communities, and helping our audience better understand what we are doing across our initiatives, launches, products, programmes, and partnerships.
This person will be a visible and trusted voice for the business: someone who thrives in conversation, enjoys helping others, and knows how to create genuine energy and momentum around purposeful work. They will proactively amplify what the company is doing, champion our mission, and help more parents, carers, guardians, educators, and partners connect with the value of our work.
They will also work closely with influencers and brand ambassadors, ensuring they are kept informed about company activity, launches, priorities, and updates, and are well positioned to help extend the reach of our message.
While this role does include some social media support, that is secondary to its core purpose. The expected weighting is:
- 60% community management, engagement and advocacy
- 40% social media management and support
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Relationship Building
- Be an active, visible, and trusted presence within relevant communities, groups, and audience spaces
- Start and contribute to conversations in a way that feels helpful, authentic, warm, and aligned with the company’s values
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, guardians, educators, and wider community members
- Add meaningful value by sharing practical tools, ideas, encouragement, and strategies that support children and families
- Proactively help amplify company activity so audiences are aware of new initiatives, launches, products, programmes, and opportunities
- Listen to community needs, questions, and concerns and feed insights back into the business
Advocacy and Amplification
- Champion the work of The Happy Confident Company across relevant audience spaces
- Communicate what the business is doing in a way that builds trust, awareness, and enthusiasm
- Help translate business updates into community-facing messages and conversations that feel useful and relevant
- Create momentum around launches, campaigns, partnerships, products, and programmes through proactive engagement rather than relying solely on scheduled content
Influencer and Brand Ambassador Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with influencers and brand ambassadors
- Keep them informed about business developments, launches, campaigns, priorities, and opportunities
- Help them feel connected to the brand and confident in sharing the company’s message
- Identify opportunities for advocates and ambassadors to amplify relevant campaigns and initiatives
Social Media Support
- Support the company’s presence across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Engage with audiences across these platforms in a responsive, warm, and brand-aligned way
- Support the amplification of key campaigns and messages through social channels
- Contribute to social media activity where needed, while recognising that content scheduling and post development are not the primary focus of the role
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to stay informed about upcoming launches, initiatives, products, programmes, and priorities
- Help ensure business activity is clearly and consistently communicated to the audience
- Contribute ideas for strengthening visibility, advocacy, community trust, and audience engagement
- Act as a bridge between the business and the community, ensuring strong connection between what we do and how it is experienced externally
Candidate Profile
The right person will be a naturally warm, proactive, bubbly, and credible communicator who genuinely enjoys engaging with people and helping others.
They will not simply be someone who manages channels from a distance. They will thrive in communities, enjoy building relationships, and feel energised by sharing good news, encouraging others, and helping people discover tools and strategies that can make a real difference.
They will have a genuine passion for child development, positive parenting, self-development, and personal development, and will feel strongly aligned with the mission of The Happy Confident Company.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Significant experience in community engagement, community building, audience engagement, advocacy, or closely related roles
- Strong experience using Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to communicate warmly, clearly, and engagingly
- Experience building trust and engagement within communities and groups
- Experience amplifying launches, initiatives, campaigns, products, or programmes
- Experience working with influencers, ambassadors, partners, or external advocates
- Strong understanding of how to represent a purpose-led brand with warmth, energy, and credibility
Background and Personal Relevance
- Strong interest in and understanding of child development
- Meaningful experience of supporting children up to age 15, either through lived experience as a parent, carer, or guardian, and/or through professional experience in the classroom or similar child-focused settings
- Good understanding of the realities and needs of families and those supporting children
- Genuine interest in positive parenting, self-development, and personal development

Working Pattern & Salary
- Home-based, 3–4 days per week
- Comfortable working independently while staying closely connected to the wider team
- Able to take ownership, spot opportunities, and maintain momentum without close supervision
- Open to freelance or employed but this role requires genuine dedication and investment in the brand and isn’t suited to someone juggling a broad portfolio of clients.
- Salary £35k-£45k FTE
