We’re working on a genuinely unique part-time Finance Lead opportunity that could be a great fit if you’re looking for something a little different.
This is a broad, hands-on Financial Controller role within a small, values-led organisation with ambitious plans for the future. It offers a rare mix of autonomy, variety and purpose — ideal for someone who enjoys being fully embedded in a business rather than sitting at arm’s length.
You’ll lead the finance function end-to-end, partnering closely with the CEO and playing a key role in supporting decision-making across the organisation. Alongside the day-to-day, there’s a real opportunity to shape and improve — from strengthening controls to modernising systems and processes.
Key areas of focus include:
Full ownership of the finance function (including AP, AR, payroll)
Cash flow management and forecasting
Monthly management accounts, budgets and financial planning
Budgetary control and oversight of spend, including capital projects
Developing and embedding robust financial controls
Improving systems and driving efficiencies
Business partnering with senior stakeholders
Supporting and overseeing a part-time bookkeeper
This role would suit a commercially minded, hands-on finance professional who enjoys operating independently and knows what “good” looks like — and how to implement it.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is a qualified accountant (or strong QBE)
Has experience leading finance in a SME or similar environment
Is confident managing cash flow, controls and financial planning
Enjoys improving processes and making things work better
Is equally comfortable in the detail and at a strategic level
Builds strong relationships and communicates with confidence
Brings a proactive, pragmatic and sleeves-rolled-up approach
Operates with high levels of integrity and ownership
Exposure to VAT in a mixed income environment would be beneficial.
Why consider it?
Part-time hours – 4 days/wk based in Sevenoaks
Salary of c£65,000–£70,000 fte*
A genuinely varied, “non-corporate” FC role
The chance to make a visible impact in a small organisation
A role with real breadth, autonomy and influence
