We’re working with a growing, founder-led communications and coaching business to find a Strategic & Commercial Growth Partner. This isn’t a typical hire. The founder is looking for someone to help shape and drive the next stage of growth, and to do it together.     

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, with demonstrable success in driving measurable growth. They should bring a strong background in developing and executing strategic initiatives that have led to sustained business expansion.

The business has strong foundations, a respected reputation, and delivers high-impact work to senior leaders and professionals across sectors. The founder brings deep delivery expertise and a clear vision. What’s needed now is a commercially minded partner to bring energy, insight, and momentum to the commercial side of the business.

This is an opportunity to help lead, grow and shape the business from the inside. There is flexibility around how the role is structured, and for the right person, there’s potential for equity and a true leadership partnership.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with the founder to lead commercial strategy and deliver business growth. This means identifying and converting new opportunities, building strong client relationships, and making sure the business is set up for long-term success.

This role is hands-on. It’s for someone who wants to make things happen, not just advise on strategy. You’ll be in the mix, leading conversations, closing deals, and helping to drive the business forward day-to-day.

Core Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy Development

  • Define and implement strategies to grow revenue and market share
  • Identify new opportunities, markets and partnerships

Sales & Marketing Oversight 

    • Oversee and align sales and marketing activity with business goals
    • Manage relevant teams or freelancers
  • Monitor performance metrics and return on investment

This role is not intended for professionals whose primary experience lies in marketing or branding 

Financial Performance Management

  • Set and track revenue targets
  • Review commercial performance and adjust plans accordingly
  • Work with finance to manage budgets and forecasts

Client and Partner Relationships

  • Build and grow relationships with key clients and stakeholders
  • Lead high-value negotiations and commercial agreements

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop commercial functions such as sales, marketing and business development
  • Set targets and support performance

Market Awareness

  • Keep on top of industry trends and competitor activity
  • Use data and insight to inform decision-making
